Okuyamato refers to a region in the eastern and southern parts of Nara Prefecture, encompassing 19 cities and towns. The people of Okuyamato, surrounded by mountainous terrain, receive abundant blessings from nature. They coexist with the mountains, harvested wood utilized to create essential goods, nurturing a traditional woodworking industry, and preserving the culture of Okuyamato.
