TAKANOKAGU is located in Shimoichi-cho, Yoshino-gun, Nara Prefecture. Shimoichi-cho is located in the northwest of Yoshino County, and has prospered since ancient times as a market town and a strategic point of transportation between the Yoshino Mountains and the Yamato Plain. About 80% of the entire area is covered with green mountains and is rich in nature, colored by the clear and pure Akino and Niu Rivers. Koya Furniture has been producing products that do not waste nature’s bounty, but rather broadly convey its appeal, with a view to adding new value to cedar bark that had been discarded.
